1997 Turkey Gold 1,000,000 Lira coin in brilliant uncirculated condition. The obverse of the coin features the portrait of the King Croesus (Kroisos), King of Lydia between 561 and 547 BC. Lydia was an Iron Age Kingdom in Asia Minor (now in modern day Turkey) and around 600 BC the Lydians became the first people to introduce the use of gold and silver as coinage. The reverse of the coin has the value, denomination and date surrounded by a wreath which is joined at the top by the star and crescent emblem of Turkey. The coin comes with a fitted plastic capsule, a blue coin pouch and a certificate of authenticity. Struck at the Istanbul Mint in .999 Gold with a 14mm diameter.
