It was a match made in — and for — the heavens. Rarely has an aircraft been more aptly named than the Starfighter. Developed in the mid-1950s for the U.S. Air Force as a high-speed fighter/interceptor, it won favor with a number of NATO powers. Then, within two years following its introduction, NASA enlisted it as a research craft. It proved so durable and reliable that it remained in service for 38 years before being retired in 1994. Re-creating every exciting detail of an actual Starfighter, down to the official NASA markings, this superb 1:48 scale model has passed muster and is ready to make its presence felt in your collection.
