1954/55 Australia MCC team signed small cricket bat

Here is an authentic original miniature (17 inch) cricket bat made in England by Gradidge of London. I was given it by my parents a long while ago after I moved to the U.S. from England.

It commemorates the M.C.C. touring side to Australia in 1954/55 and has printed signatures of the captain, Len Hutton, and other members of the team.

According to Wikipedia, the team toured Australia to play a five-match test series against Australia for the ashes. They won the series 3-1, with one match drawn. Subsequently, the team moved on to New Zealand.

Len Hutton’s signature is at the top of the bat and also in the list of team signatures. They are:

The bat is in good collectible condition for its age. The signatures are clear. The varnish is in very good condition except for some crackling on the glue lines where the handle ‘V’ meets the blade. The handle is firmly attached. The main sign of age is that the rubber grip covering the handle has dried out and is missing some edge pieces at the very top.
