TUNNEL OF LOVE (Bruce Springsteen's ninth album) is essentially a solo release and marked the final chapter of The E Street band, whose members appear separately on several tracks. Springsteen's home studio in Rumson, New Jersey was the primary recording location. Popular music as an art form has attained some of its greatest peaks when dealing with the thorny material of relationships. Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel Of Love, a powerful meditation on his own disintegrating marriage, represents a classic of its type. Predominantly an intimate solo recording the songs convey the gamut of emotions experienced in a long-term relationship, from desire ('Ain't Got You') through disquiet and deceit ('Tunnel Of Love' and 'Brilliant Disguise') to despair ('When You're Alone'), ending on a note of cautious optimism ('Valentine's Day'). Springsteen would never again be as nakedly emotional as he was on this beautiful and honest album. | |

My Rating Criteria: Unless otherwise specified all CDs are from my private collection stored in a smoke-free environment. I have been collecting CDs from the beginning. I offer all kinds and genres of music. I offer some very special collectibles, as well as some fairly pedestrian items. I am very conservative in my ratings – I simply do not want any problems with how I rate a CD. I guarantee that all CDs are playable and able to be copied. I do not sell CD-Rs. I do not rate cases. If the case is damaged, I will replace it before selling the item. Shipping Considerations [general guidelines]: See below or visit USPS.com to help calculate a rough estimate of your shipping costs or contact me for a quote. Here are my general guidelines on rates. Shipping for multiple purchases: § I do not make any money off shipping and handling. § I will combine purchases – even those purchased over time, as long as they are shipped at the same time. Just request an invoice when you are done with your purchases. § It is important that you request an invoice for multiple purchase as eBay does not handle this situation very well and will overcharge for shipping of multiple items. I will refund any overages. US: § I mail all single CDs in a padded envelop via USPS First Class with Delivery Confirmation. Cost is $3.00 for the first CD for shipping and handling. § My experience is that USPS Media Mail is slow, unreliable, and with delivery confirmation, costs about the same as or more than First Class – I’m not finding the meager savings worth the hassles. § First Class mail covers weights up to 13 oz. That is the equivalent of 2 or 3 single CDs – depends mostly on booklet weight. I can mail the extra 1 or 2 single CDs for an additional $1.00 each. For weights above 13 oz., I mail USPS Priority for $6.00, which provides for 4 to 5 single CDs. For more than 6 single CDs, please request a quote, but USPS Flat Rate box works well and the cost per single CD is fairly reasonable. International (including Canada and Mexico): § I mail all single CDs via USPS First Class for between $3.00 and $7.00 USD – please use the calculator provided. § For International shipments, First Class covers up to 2 pounds. § I will ship anywhere in the world, as long as I have a confirmed postal address. § I have had some international customers who request that I send only the CDs and booklets [sans cases] to take advantage of the lower rates. So far, that has worked well. § Concern: I have had many exasperating experiences with USPS First Class for international shipping. Also, I have had many dismal experiences with the customs’ processing of many countries. Both situations elongate delivery times and lead to much frustration. § International USPS First Class cannot be traced or insured. Insurance: Under no circumstances will I be financially responsible for lost or damage to an item during shipping if insurance is not purchased. Please request insurance if you are at all concerned, especially for more costly items. International First Class and Flat Rate Boxes cannot be insured. If you require insurance, I must send item at regular (higher) rates. Please contact me with any issues, concerns, or thoughts before completing your purchase. Feedback gladly provided for those that provide feedback for me. Postage, Shipping, and Handling: The United States Postal Service has recently simplified (?) their shipping charges. I’ll try to explain the current shipping charges. Here are some general guidelines:
