1893 Baltimore & Ohio Railroad 100 shares cert, scarce

This is a share certificate for 100 shares in the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company issued in 1893. It is signed by the president of the company, Orland Smith, who was a Union Brigadier General as well as a railway executive. The certificate was issued in and then cancelled some time later. In very good condition, these normally sell for more than $100 and are a lot harder to find than the brown coloured shares, so someone could get a bargain here.

Buyer pays US$5 for standard airmail postage or $12 for registered mail outside the UK. Postage within the UK is $5. Registered airmail is much safer since it allows tracking of packages and compensation in the event of loss. For high value items and certain destinations with unreliable postal systems I will only ship under registered airmail.

I am always willing to combine postage on multiple wins. I take payment by Paypal only but if that is really impossible for you let me know in advance of bidding and we can see if we can work out something.

Please note that unless registered mail is used it is not possible to track an item if it goes missing in the post. This greatly increases the risk that an item can get permanently lost.
