With one foot in rowdy southern rock of the Lynyrd Skynyrd variety and one in contemporary Nashville country, the country-rock duo Montgomery Gentry have always had a wider commercial reach than other similar sounding acts. SOME PEOPLE CHANGE continues the band's string of fine, hard-rocking country albums, with the excellent title track (and first single) a clear career highlight. The sweet ballad "Clouds" shows an uncharacteristicly gentle side, while "If You Wanna Keep An Angel" is an instant honky tonk classic.
