It was July 4th, 1956...
While at a family picnic, I couldn't help but notice a colony of ants marching and foraging. This gave me the idea for an ant habitat that would allow children to watch these industrious little creatures up close. Thinking back to how fascinated I was as a boy watching ants on my uncle's farm in Pennsylvania, I added a miniature farm scene and the famous trademark, Ant Farm, was created.
With over twenty million sold, I've been very fortunate that the Ant Farm brand is now considered an American classic and my original idea is just as popular fifty years later!
