This is an Excellent fossil fish plate with a very Nice fossil fish .  The plate has been neatly excavated.  Fish is 2.5" long. 


Name: Lycoptera
Geologic Age: Upper Jurassic (157 - 136 million years ago)
Stratigraphic detail: Rebes Formation
Location: Liaoning Province, China 

A Very Fine specimen, this one portrays excellent preservation of the head, fins and tail fin. You can clearly see the skeletal bones.

These fish are from the Jurassic time period, approximately 200 million years old.
