WHILE VERY CAREFUL, WE ARE HUMAN
If a significant flaw was not disclosed in the listing description, please bring it to our attention within 3 days of delivery. If there is an error in the listing description and the item you receive is clearly not as described, we will refund your payment in full upon return receipt of the item in original condition (tags still attached, etc.).
Measurements
Please compare our measurements to an item that fits you well. Our garments are measured while laying flat, so there is no movement room included. Movement room is what you need in order to move your arms, walk, and sit. If your body has identical measurements to the garment, chances are the garment will be too tight.
The best thing to do is measure a similar piece of clothing that fits you well, and compare those measurements to our measurements. If you need an item measured in centimeters, let us know -- we'll be happy to oblige.
To measure items, we lay them flat, measure across the item from side seam to side seam and double the measurement. Total length for dresses, shirts and jackets means base of the neckline to hem and pants are measured on the inseam, from crotch to hem.
How we measure:
- Chest: We lay the garment down and measure across the chest from armpit to armpit. We then double this giving the true chest size.
- Sleeve: From the top shoulder seam (or natural shoulder) to the bottom of the cuff.
- Length: From the middle of the neck down the back to the bottom of the garment.
- Waist: Laying the garment down, we measure the natural waistline taking care not to stretch the band. We take the reading and double it.
- Inseam: Laying the garment down, we measure from the crotch to the bottom of the pant hem.
You probably won't be able to wear the same size vintage shoe as you would a modern one. Vintage shoes are generally narrower than modern shoes and this often means you need one to two full sizes larger in vintage than in a contemporary shoe. If you have any doubts about sizing, we encourage you to send us an e-mail. We'd be happy to help.
Condition
We diligently try to only send out garments that are free of damage. While our items may be in unbelievable condition, they are - after all - vintage garments. Frankly, we think they deserve respect for lasting this long!
Please clean your purchase as you would any newly-acquired garment. If an item needs an extra level of dry cleaning or special care it will be noted. A vintage clothing enthusiast is generally aware that nearly all vintage clothing has been used, worn, perhaps even altered more than one time. Even deadstock items (still "new" with tags) may have some fading or surface dirt from storage.
Vintage clothing may have a popped stitch here or there, tiny areas of seam separation, pinhead sized holes, small spots, fading or other itty bitty defects we could possibly miss. After all, we are human and inspect hundreds of items each week. Flaws will be listed in the item description to the best of our ability.
FINALLY... IF IN DOUBT, ASK BEFORE YOU BID
