This starter will work on vertical and horizontal shaft engines. This starter has been bench tested and it works perfectly and has a new starter gear. New, these motors cost well over $100.00. If you are not sure what your engine needs, e-mail me and I will check for you. Shipping is FREE and I take Paypal only because E-bay says so!!.
