Once in a while in life, what one considers just a crazy impossible dream or unobtainable fantasy comes true. This is how I feel about my life in the world of amateur mountain bike racing. As one of the oldest women competing in what's considered a young man's sport, I hold a unique position in this arena. I love challenging society's expectations of what older women can do. Very few people will ever be professional sports figures, but anyone who lives long enough and stays fit can aspire to be the oldest person in their field and kick a few young butts! To all those who have ever told me I can't or shouldn't do something because I'm a girl, or because I'm too old, I say, "Watch me!" This book consists of excerpts from a journal I kept of my experiences, thoughts, feelings, triumphs, disappointments, frustrations, embarrassments and joys along the way.
