Cone Yarn
I've discovered I like buying cone yarns and winding it into skeins that the average knitter can use. Cone yarns are just like the skein yarns for hand knitting, but are in continuous lengths for machine knitting or weaving. Often they have a sizing to make them easier to use for machine knitting and weaving, but that washes out with a soak in Woolite or gentle soap. For wool, I find a gentle shampoo and touch of cream rinse do wonders! After all, wool is hair! I can often find unusual yarns not available as skeins, and because they are bought in bulk, they can be sold for much less than they would cost in a knitting shop.
This is soft, yummy cotton chenille in Mayfair gold. This is a fingering/sport weight yarn, and would make the softest garments. I can see great baby clothes, or a sweater for that special person. This yarn is available in five other colors in other auctions.
Weight of each skein: 3 ounces
Yards per skein: 270
NOTE: If you buy more than one skein, I will often wind the yarn into larger skeins. It makes fewer knots for the knitter, and saves me time in winding. If you do not want double-sized skeins, please let me know at the end of the auction. THESE ARE NOT DOUBLE-PLY, JUST LARGER (60 grams instead of 30 grams, for example). Be advised, though, that if your order is for more than 10 skeins and you still want single skeins, there will be an extra charge. I have spent over four hours winding an order of 40 single skeins.
THINGS TO KNOW
1. Thank you for buying my yarns. I accept PayPal only, and payment is due within 24 hours of receiving the invoice. I wind skeins Monday thru Wednesday, and ship Tuesday thru Thursday. I have a "real" job the other days, so don't have the time to wind.
2. I am glad to combine shipping, and add a small handling fee to the cost of the entire package, not per item. If you buy more than one skein, please wait for the invoice that I send. eBay just adds up the cost of individual packages, resulting in a larger fee than necessary. Shipping methods will also change with larger packages. Please remember that I live in the far West, and parcel post items will take a longer time to reach the East. If speed is a concern, choose first class or priority mail. Remember, packages over 13 ounces must go by either priority or parcel post, not first class.
3. I will ship internationally. My only exception is that packages to Italy must be sent by some sort of registered method, which is expensive. Customs and postal service problems have forced me to do this. Remember that items can take longer to some locations because of customs delays. Orders of over $50 must be registered ($10.00 charge) or shipped by some trackable method.
I try to please all of my customers, and want their experience to be the best possible. If there is a problem at any time during this process, please email me with your concerns.
