19th Century French Sterling Silver Ice Cream Serving Set...

with opulent Louis XV rocaille & scroll chased handles and truly remarkable figural server ends!

Finely crafted from the highest quality silver, the handles feature an ornate rocaille cartouche and a delightful putto figure framed by scrolling acanthus.

Both handles are stamped with the French Minerva 1st standard mark (950) which identifies them to be French Silver of 95% purity.

The silver plate server ends are decorated with amazingly detailed chased & engraved dramatic griffins and an elaborate foliate decor.

Rare and hard to find as a pair

A splendid addition to a silver collection ~ and guaranteed to be quite a topic of conversation when entertaining!
