Thank you for looking at this auction.

This is one of two Adrian Pearsall/Craft Associates designed tables by Lane that I currently have listed. The other is a round end table or lamp table.

I love this Pearsall design and have listed and sold several pieces in the last few weeks. Feel free to look at my feedback to see what other buyers have said about their tables and for a further description as to why I have owned so many.

Up for bid is a coffee table that measures 59-inches long by 24-inches wide by 14 1/2-inches high. The mark underneath the table reads "461140" which read backwards gives you the production date of April 11, 1964.

As with the round table, this table has been refinished with a medium walnut Danish oil that was hand-rubbed and hand-sanded with 5 coats of oil. The medium walnut oil brings out the great graining of the table. With different light it may look blonde to red to brown or oak to teak to walnut. This type of finish seems best to keep with the Danish Modern tradition.

There are no major flaws to report. Minor nicks and scuffs aren't noticeable unless you really try to look for them. As with any of these rectangular Pearsall tables, you will notice very small gaps at the corners and a looseness of the thicker horizontal runners. The corners I believe are from the expansion/contraction of the wood in changing seasons. I have tried several ways in the past to glue/tighten the horizontal runners but they will always come free with the same expansion/contraction of the wood. This should be of no worry to you because the runners were designed with two dowels sitting in pockets on each end. The runners are secure and the table is stable.

The table will ship without the glass insert. I have the glass insert and it is available to the winning bidder if they want to pick up the table in Cincinnati. If the table is shipped, there is a high probabilty that such a large piece of glass (54 x 19) will break. I could pack the glass to probably not break but the added weight would add more to the shipping cost than what a piece of glass would cost the winning bidder to have made......and then the glass might still break in transit.

The table will be shipped in a crate covered by cardboard and very securely packaged. Shipping will be via Greyhound and will require the winning bidder to pick up the table at their nearest Greyhound terminal. Shipping charges will be $60.00 for a table this size. I do not charge for packing, materials, or handling. If the cost that Greyhound charges is less to get the table to the winning bidder, I will gladly refund the difference via Paypal.

Don't forget to take a look at the matching round table.
