Movie description
Ingrid Bergman gives a sincere and spellbinding performance as Joan of Arc, a 16th-century peasant who convinces the cynical French royalty that God has commanded her to drive the British out of France. Placed at the head of the French army, Joan leads the forces to one daring victory after another, but betrayal lies in wait. Based on Maxwell Anderson's 1946 play, JOAN OF LORRAINE, director Victor Fleming's (GONE WITH THE WIND, THE WIZARD OF OZ) final film is a masterful adventure and tragedy.

Notes
JOAN OF ARC marked the screen debut for actor José Ferrer, who would go on to make nearly a hundred film and television appearances.

JOAN OF ARC cost more than $4 million to make--a huge amount for its time.

For years after the film, French Customs officials would greet Ingrid Bergman as Jeanne d'Arc and jokingly welcome her home.

Although he helped craft one of Bergman's most memorable roles, director Victor Fleming felt that his final film was a failure. He died a year later at the age of 66.

The picture quality of these older movies varies from viewable to sharp and clear.  The sound track may be clear or it may have minor pops and hissing in spots or throughout the movie.  All tapes but those listed as NEW have been play tested on my personal equipment just before listing, so you may be sure that when they left my home they were in the condition stated in the listing.  New sealed tapes, still in shrink wrap, have NOT been opened for play testing as that would render them used tapes. 

 

Used è Cassette, tape, and case in VG-excellent condition.  Much of the shrink wrap is still intact.
