And not only does it protect from dust, but as you may or may not know, one of the issues that Bernina owners encounter is that the plastics on their machines tend to darken when exposed for long periods to light, so it is always a good idea to keep your machine covered to protect against light and keep your machine sparkling white like new.  The two pieces may be used separately but actually also zip together to create one extra large cover for your machine with the embroidery module attached.
