This is a very neat metal egg crate originally sold by Metal Products Co. Mfgrs. in Fredericksburg, Va.  As near as I can tell, this case wase used for mailing of eggs.

The egg case comes with blown-out, empty, brown eggs shells on the top layer.  It also comes with an instruction and information sheet.  The case would hold 6 dozen eggs, each in its own protected compartment.

This is a conversation item for the collector of old egg paraphenalia.  The case measures approximately 9" X 9" X 13".
