What can I say, absolutely stunning bookcase I just got in. I got in several but only this one has the double deep Stepback bottom section with the drawers as its base. The others are the same with drawers but no extra deep depth. This bookcase was made before 1900. It has carved handles on the drawers and exquisite detail in the accents on it. Height is about 7 feet. The width is 41 inches across, and the depth is 12 inches except for the bottom section which measure about 17 inches in depth. There are only 3 pieces to this bookcase. The top piece as shown which features a storage area inside. The bottom base section with the drawers and the middle section. The middle section is solid on the sides and has the 5 glass front sections in it. The doors actually open down like a toaster oven. The top section lifts up as shown. 100% original in every way. I have been unable to ascertain who made them but they are something to behold and high quality. Solid walnut wood.
