These "EXPERTS" obviously have NEVER MINED Turquoise in their life or they would know that turquoise from almost every mine in Nevada has different grades, colors, matrix etc , depending on the host rock and influences of other minerals present during the years it was formed by Mother Nature.

We have always tried to give the buyer pertinent information about the turquoise we have collected or personally mined over the years but there is a group of Yahoos that have decieded that they indeed are "Experts" in identifying Turquoise eventhou I have never seen their names on a turquoise mine claim in the 38 years we have been in the turquoise business. Sadly, today most small miners are being forced out of the business by new regulations ; like the one that says you must have workmans comp even for yourself to mine.This has brought in the SYNTHETICS you are seeing in jewelry on QVC; but the prices do not reflect the man-made turquoise or colored stone being used. Did you know that they are crushing white powder soft stone, adding any color and plastics while forming those "beads" for bead necklaces in pre-formed molds ? So what are you actually getting when you buy that "southwest Jewelry" .... Just reconstituded colored white powder in plastic .

If you want ACTUAL GEMSTONES, then you should buy from people who actually mine their own turquoise or from Artists that use the Genuine Turquoise from reputible dealers . We aren't saying we are perfect or Experts as anyone can make a mistake but we have always offered Natural Turquoise to our customers and will continue to mine Turquoise till Joe Biden gets his way with the BLM and only huge Conglomerates will be able to afford to mine.
