Peck Family Genealogy 1868 Antique Rare Old Book Chart

This is a rare 1st first edition antique family history / genealogy book published in 1868 entitled "Genealogical History of the Descendants of Joseph Peck, Who Emigrated with his Family to this Country in 1638; and Records of His Father's and Grandfather's Families in England; with the Pedigree Extending back from Son to Father for Twenty Generations; with their Coat of Arms, and Copies of Wills."  "Also an Appendix giving an account of the Boston and Hingham Pecks, the descendants of John Peck of Mendon, Massaschusetts, Deacon Paul of Hartford, Deacon William and Henry of New Haven, and Joseph of Milford, Connecticut with portraits of distinguished persons from steel engravings," by Ira B. Peck, printed by Alfred Mudge & Son, Boston, with a frontispiece portrait engraving of the author with an intact tissue guard, a fold-out genealogical chart (which was torn and has been mostly repaired with tape), and 442 pages.  This book has sold in the past for $150 to $250.

In decent shape for the age being over 140 years old, numerous engraved portraits of relatives, much fascinating information on births, deaths, marriages, immigration, family stories, and more.  The book has a brown blindstamped cloth hardcover with a family shield embossed on the front in gold gilt, the edges and surface are worn and the spine torn off as shown, but the book is mostly bound except for a few pages coming loose near the front.  Also, most all of the pages are clean and bright without significant tears, folds, or markings.

Overall, a wonderful and scarce 1st edition interesting old family history book that would be appreciated by anyone related to the Peck family interested in researching genealogy.
