No reserve for this estate-fresh never opened can of oysters, 100% guaranteed original early 1900s, NOT A REPRODUCTION ! Photos (taken with and without camera flash) show entire label in excellent condition: no tears or rips. Can has light rust on top and bottom but no dents. Oysters are still in the can, never been opened. Can measures approximately 4 1/2" high with a 3 3/8" diameter. Offensive and racist label from the Jim Crow era features caricature eating an oyster, the brand as shown, made by the York River Oyster Co. in Baltimore City,MD. Please note that hard-to-find reproductions of this can routinely sell in the $125-150 range and carry the Mississippi label ( York River Oysters relocated there at a later date from their original location in Baltimore). U.S. buyer to add $10 shipping and insurance (without debate, thank you), and pay within 7 days after auction ends. Outside U.S. to pay $22. |
