RARE George Eliot 1st Ed 1884 Antique Essays Old Book

This is a very rare copy of a 1st first edition antique book by the famous author George Eliot entitled "Essay and Leaves from a Note-Book" published by D. Lothrop & Co., Boston, with a red cloth decorative hardcover, gold gilt labeling, and 295 pages.  This book is valued between $80 and $150. 

This old scarce book is still entirely well-bound and mostly clean and readable throughout without apparent tears, folds, or markings except for some small spots of typical foxing from age and two neat bookplates at the front -- one says "No. ___ L. Anna Ballard," and the other is a blue member label and says "No. 30 The Readers' Union Library...[several paragraphs of small text]," and the only significant damage to the book is light soiling to the cover with dampstaining that bleeds through to primarily about the first 15 pages (as shown) and a few pages at the back, but does not detract from the readability of the book.  It is solid and otherwise in good condition for the age.

Overall, a wonderful and very hard-to-find vintage 1st edition book that would be appreciated by anyone who enjoys reading or collecting old and rare books, especially the works of George Eliot.
