The March, 1958, issue of Model Airplane News carried Paul E. Del Gatto's small, nice profile P-51D u-control model which by the end of the year came out as an Ambroid model kit. Del Gatto put a K & B .09 in his model but for some reason I put a Fox .15 steel case in mine back then. Maybe that is why it flew like a streak and landed hot. I still have mine and it is hanging over the magazine plans pages. This was one quick to build, fun flying model plane. The wing span is 22 inches and calls for a 1/4 inch x 3 inch x 24 inch hard balsa sheet sheet with an airfoil shaped with a fine wood rasp. The profile fuselage calls for a 3/8 inch x 3 inch x 20 inch medium balsa sheet. I have shown the photo in the construction article of all of the parts shown on the plan after you cut out all of the parts ready for assembly. MY MIDNIGHT BLUE, FOX .15 POWERED MODEL IS NOT FOR SALE. YOU ARE PURCHASING A NICE, WHITE COPY OF THE CONSTRUCTION ARTICLE AND THE FULL-SIZE PLANS FROM THE MAGAZINE, FOLDED AND IN A MANILLA ENVELOPE. I gladly combine postage for multiple orders. On multiple orders please wait for me to invoice you before you pay. I ship overseas to PayPal customers. |
