layaway available,  let me know if interested.  only the cutest mahogany ladies desk and chair you will find.  antique mahogany hand crafted, special order no doubt for some special lady writing desk.  it has bombay sides and a serpentine drawer with griffin head pulls.  i have seen and owned several ladies desk, some with bombay sides and some with serpentine drawers, but never one with this kind of extra detail and carving,  not to mention the back splash and crest. anyway, a super piece for sure.  i have seen a few horner desks very similar but none this nice.  it has a retailers paper label on the back that still is partly there, but not sure of the maker, but a heck of craftsman. by the way is also has molding at the bottom of the sides and inside the knee hole along the bottom back.  no details on this little piece left out.  it is 48 inches tall at top of the crest, 19 inches deep, and 37.5 wide. the chair is of the finest mahogany, has fierce griffins , two at the top facing each other with a horner egg between them.  it has ball and claw feet.  a very nice chair that is a perfect fit for the desk.  the chair back is also pierced carved.  pick up at my home or can be shipped at buyers expense. it says somewhere large item over 150 pounds, it doesn't weigh near that, but that is the easiest way to get thru the shipping part of listing an item, otherwise it takes 15 minutes to go thru all the bs to get an item listed.  i can help arrange for transportation.      the desk itself is in museum quality condition.  it might need dusting.  i noticed in one the pictures that dust seemed to be an eye catcher. a very wonderful and rare piece. i would be glad to answer any questions or send addtional photos if anyone needs more information etc.  good luck
