THIS IS A SEALED REISSUE COPY FROM THE EARLY-90s - done by my very good friend Mark Wimmers who got the masters directly from Byron Morris himself......

Morris never gained the widespread following of Coltrane or Ayler, but records by his group Unity have earned an extremely impressive (and well deserved) reputation among die-hard fans of free jazz, the avant garde, and fusion over the years. Unity has consistently featured gifted soloists who are real musicians' musicians. The personnel on this album is: Byron Morris, Vincent McEwan, Jay Clayton, Gene Adler, Tyronne Walker, Frank Clayton, Milton Suggs, Abu Sharif, and a voice choir.

The tracks are 1. ERAA 2. Suite for Rahsaan, Mingus, and Lester Young 3. Panamanian Aire 4. Sun Shower 5. Eyewitness News Bluze 6. Like a Galaxy of Stars. The relationship between Unity's sound and the musical inspirations of Rahsaan Roland Kirk are discussed in the liner notes on the back cover, including a short liner note by Rahsaan's wife.
