DESCRIPTION: THIS AUCTION IS FOR AN AESTHETIC CAST IRON BOOK BINDING PRESS WITH A BRASS FINIAL. IT HAS A BAR WITH ONE BALL AT EACH END - TO RAISE AND LOWER THE UPPER PLATE.   IT MEASURES 18 1/2" TALL WHEN FULLY OPEN WITH 3" BETWEEN PLATES.  THE TOP PLATE IS 13" X 9 3/4", THE BOTTOM PLATE IS THE SAME. OVERALL THE IT IS 17" WIDE . OVERALL HEIGHT WHEN CLOSED 15".  THE CAST IRON FEET RAISE IT 1 1/2".  IT HAS A GREAT AESTHETIC LOOK! 

CONDITION:  THE CONDITION IS VERY GOOD.  THERE IS WEAR APPROPRIATE WITH AGE.  THERE IS VERY LITTLE SURFACE RUST - ONLY ON THE UNDERSIDE. THE PRESS BAR MOVES FREELY AND WORKS JUST FINE. VERY GOOD USABLE CONDITION.
