On the 61st Old-Timers' Day, the Yankees are proud to honor the 30th anniversary of the 1977 World Championship team! The 1977 Bombers won the American League East with a record of 100-62 and then defeated the Kansas City Royals 3 games to 2 in the American League Championship Series to advance to the World Series for the 31st time in franchise history. In the Fall Classic, they met the Los Angeles Dodgers, who they last faced in the 1963 World Series. The Yankees led the dodgers 3 games to two when the series returned to the Bronx for Game 6. In the memorable contest, World Series MVP Reggie Jackson made history when he hit three home runs on three consecutive swings to lead the Yankees to an 8-4 victory and their 21st World Series title. We hope you enjoy this pin celebrating the 1977 team - a great addition to any fan's memorabilia collection - with our compliments. Above words written on card. This is a pin back. Wrapped in plastic. Mint condition. PINS HANDED OUT ON JULY 7, 2007 AT YANKEE STADIUM. |
