Lot of 5 25 Micron Polyester Filter Bags 16" Long, 7" diameter
Heat treated Filter bags These aren't just polyester bags. they are heat treated or glazed so the fibers do not come apart during use and they will last longer when washed. Most of our competitors sell just regular bags which will not get the job done as well.
Perfect for filtering your biodiesel or SVO (straight vegetable oil) or any other kind of liquid with really fine debris (That you can't see) in it.
NOTE: Coarse filters are much more important than fine filters. You will need a lot more 50 micron bags than you need 1 micron. A 1 micron bag should last 3-5 times longer than your course micron bags if you use them before the 1 micron bag. The more steps of different micron sizes you use, the longer your bags will last and the better the filtering job. Simply using 1 micron bags to do all of the filtering clogs them fast and will cost you a lot more money than a simple set of each micron size. The coarser bags do most of filtering. Use the fine filters just to get the micro particles. Not the big stuff too.

See my store for Filter Adapter Heads They make filtering EASY!
Greater discounts available for a purchase of 25 filter bags. See my store for details.
Wise Advise (Everyone read first!): The Best Way to Filter Optimal filtering temperature: 100 degrees - At this temp most fats melt and will pass through the bag. If you are running a mixture in your vehicle (cold oil) you must filter cold or you will clog your on-board filters fast. Filtering cold oil takes a long time.
100 micron is approx. the width of a human hair. You cannot see it. Most particles under 400 micron you will not see. So if you think your oil is really really clean, you need to start at 200 micron at the minimum. Normally, oil is much dirtier than 200.
Use
600-400-200-100 micron strainers (see my other auctions) stacked on top
of a bucket or barrel to pre-filter your liquids. Then filter in
succession through as many different sized filter bags as possible. For
example 50-25-10-5-1 micron (bags stuffed inside of each other). You
can use higher micron sized bags in place of the strainers. Your
filters will last a LOT LONGER if you filter in succession rather than
straight into a 10 micron filter, and you will SAVE MONEY. Same goes
for strainers-Filter in succession, not right into the 100 micron. I
get around 800 gallons per set of bag filters before I need to throw
them out (without washing them). Remember that coarse filter bags are more important than fine ones. In a set of 1-50 micron bags, the 50 will need to be changed many more times before the 1-10 bags. The 1 micron bags is only collecting particles 1-5 which are very small and minimal to clogging. One great reason not to use just a 1 micron bag is because it collects all particles, clogs very quickly and will be useless in only a few gallons.

DESCRIPTION Filter
bags are used to filter out unwanted debris from liquids. Once
prefiltering has been done with the EZ-strainer, these filter bags do
an excellent job at removing the smaller debris.
Due to the fine
filtering of these fine particle removing bags, it is recommended that
you filter your liquids through coarser filters first to preserve life
of the filter bag. For vegetable oil, you should first strain it
through a 400 or 600 micron strainer, then filter through a 200 then
100 (stacked on top of each other). Then you will be able to move onto
the 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 micron filter bags. You can filter oil in
succession; put the coarser bags inside of the finer bags for a
one-time pass through all of them at the same time.

The
bags are equipped with a stainless steel ring which is designed to be a
gasket as well as support for the filter bag when used in a housing.
There is a band sewn on the top for hanging (gravity filtration)
applications.
The diameter of the bags is 7 inches and the depth
is 16 inches. The felt used is very high grade and sewn well so the
bags will take quite a beating without falling apart.
What's a
micron? A micron is one millionth of a meter. To give you an idea, most
diesel filters on your vehicle filter between 6-10 micron. So if you
filter down to 5 or 1 micron, you are doing your filters a great favor
and not clogging them.
The efficiency of polyester is about 80%.
This means that 80% of the particles passing through the bag of the
rated micron size or higher are caught in the fabric. If you run
through two bags, (or twice through) you will catch 96% of the
particles. It is most recommended to filter in succession of micron
sizes to increase filter life and increase overall efficiency. (For
example, use 50, 25, 5, and 1 micron bags inside of each other)
Max recommended temperature is 300 degrees. If you actually test that temperature, please don't burn yourself.

Rumors:
Some people claim that polypropylene will not let water pass through
them. This is not true at all. Any liquid will pass through felt
materials. The only way to remove water is via boiling, settling or
centrifugal means. The only difference between polyester and
polypropylene is the efficiency and chemical resistivity (Will not
degrade as much when used with biodiesel). Polyester is the best for
filtering WVO since they are cheap and easy to work with.
We use calculated shipping. This means you're paying the actual cost to ship based on your location. Use the shipping calculator to figure shipping for the available methods listed. (Yes, you can change your shipping method if you prefer to during check-out) - For combined shipping quotes you will need to contact us with your postal code so we can calculate it.
We do not insure any USPS shipments. It's not worth it. Fedex is listed as UPS because ebay doesn't have a fedex option for calculated shipping. Fedex orders automatically get $100 worth of insurance. If you need to make a claim for damaged goods, email us and we will handle it. You can't do it yourself.
Our fedex shipments ship the fastest and often beat priority mail unless going to very far out places. Fedex rates are always better when ordered directly from our website because of the ebay flaw.
