"This book isn't about sport fighting, flashy moves or how to become a better person through a martial art. It presents realistic grappling techniques designed to control and restrain through the application of pain to the joints. Its purpose is to provide today's modern warrior – the self-defense oriented martial artist, combat soldier or law enforcement officer – with easy-to-apply techniques that first restrain and then, if taken to their maximum potential, inflict severe physical injury, including torn ligaments and tendons, broken bones and even paralysis or death in extreme cases.
Loren Christensen began his law enforcement career in 1967 when he served in the army as a military policeman in the United States and in Vietnam. He joined the Portland, Oregon, Police Bureau in 1972 and retired in 1997. During those years, he specialized in street gangs, defensive tactics, dignitary protection, and patrolling the bizarre streets of skid row." - Paladin Press Catalogue
All our listings are IN STOCK (Unless specifically stated as a "special order"). Despite this, sometimes a stock item is missing or damaged. In these events we will contact you as soon as possible for instruction, if you choose to wait for restock, we will upgrade your shipping to priority mail to reduce the delay as much as possible.
We usually ship twice per week, meaning that orders usually ship within 1-3 business days of receiving cleared payment. The days vary, but are usually Wednesday & Saturday. To be included in a shipment, payments must be cleared by 5pm EST on the preceeding day.
COMBINED SHIPPING Policy: For simplicity we have implimented a new combined shipping policy. Now we will charge $3.95 for the first book, and $0.95 for each additional book (Books over 2 pounds excepted). Free shipping items can, of course, be combined without extra cost. For very large orders, please contact us for a custom quote. Media items cannot be combined with toys or other items except by special request.
International Buyers :
Please be aware that your customs office may (or may not) charge taxes, duties or inspection fees upon your shipment. At least the USPS does not charge international brokerage fees like UPS does.
There are 3 international shipping options listed, here is an explanation:
- Flat Rate Envelope : This is a thin cardboard 8.5x11 envelope intended for documents. In this I place a poly bubble wrap envelope with your book in it, or else your book wrapped in bubble wrap. Without the extra bubble padding, damage to the book is almost certain - beware other sellers who do not provide additional padding (always check feedback negatives). I have sent quite a few of these successfully to international destinations, but if you select this method, you are accepting the risk of shipping damage as this method is not insurable.
- Priority Mail : Standard shipping method, using boxes and appropriate padding. This method includes full tracking and has basic insurance included. We highly recommend combining shipping with multiple items when shipping overseas.
- Flat Rate Box & Large Flat Rate Box : These are great for combined shipping. They are a one-price box (same price regardless of weight), and allow (on average) 6 - 12 books/videos to be shipped together for a very economical rate. Number of books will vary depending on size of the book, of course. For this option, after you make your purchase, I will send an invoice with the combined order. Please wait for that invoice before paying.
