For sale here is a superb vintage five color lino cut from 1959 by German artist, Hermann Ober (1920-1997). His organic modernist artwork speaks for itself! This artwork is titled "Vegetative Forms" (in English), and is from 1959. Signed, numbered, and dated 1959 by the artist on the front in pencil, this is number 44 of an edition of 200. Measures 15-1/4" by 19-1/2" total with the image area measuring about 13-1/2" by 18". Excellent vintage condition.  This artwork has never been framed, and will ship rolled.

This is one of several vintage artworks that I have listed in my eBay store this week, including three more by this artist, and another of this exact print number 42 of 200, see my other eBay store listings. I have acquired this artwork, along with many other works of graphic art, from the estate of a former gallery owner from San Francisco. The Eric Locke Gallery was famous in it's day for championing the graphics arts by up and coming artists from around the world, and was one of only two galleries in San Francisco that sold graphic arts when it opened, the other being the world-famous Gumps.  The Eric Locke gallery was open from 1955 to 1965, though all the artworks were acquired prior to 1964, when the proprietor had a stroke and was no longer able to run the business. After closing the gallery in 1965, these artworks were placed in storage until the present.

Please take a look at my other eBay store listings for more of these long-buried vintage mid-century modernist gems. I am happy to combine shipping for multiple orders, either from my auctions or my eBay store items.
