ATTENTION: Please read my description and addendums carefully and email me with any questions before bidding. Remember to check this listing during the auction for any further addendums I may add. ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please contact me before paying by PayPal. <Ebay shipping estimate includes insurance for opening bid amount.> A very handsome and boldly painted Chinese porcelain brush pot with Wucai palate which probably dates late Ming or early Transitional. The white body has a smooth unctuous glaze typical of Ming wares and the unglazed bottom is smooth to the touch with burnt orange outer edge. In excellent condition with extremely fine overall wear to the surface, but very few obvious surface abrasions (see photos). There are two tiny very shallow old flakes to the glaze on the top rim along the inner edge. These are right next to each other and of nearly identical size (see photo of top rim). 5 & ¼” tall by slightly more than 3” diameter. IMPORTANT: If you are a buyer from mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore,or Taiwan with low feedback (under 10), contact me before bidding. If you have low and Negative feedback or if you are a ‘non-registered’ buyer from anywhere, DO NOT bid on this auction (I will cancel your bid and block you if you do). I have been forced to set these limits to try to protect my auctions for the benefit all honest and conscientious ebayers. Unfortunately, ebay is doing nothing effectual to protect sellers (one Chinese mainland buyer with 2 feedbacks has canceled 24 bids in a three month period…3 times in one of my auctions alone…ebay oversight?) The identification and dating of Antiques and Decorative Arts is at times a more or less subjective endeavor. For a variety of reasons, one ‘expert’s’ results can differ from another’s. My descriptions are based on my researches and experience. The time to question these, is before bidding, not after. I go to great lengths to be as accurate as possible and to provide enough photographs to allow the buyer to exercise their own judgment. However, I cannot be responsible for differing opinions, when brought into play after the close of an auction. If you remain uneasy about an item I am listing, even after contacting me, the decision to bid will be your responsibility. I have regretfully had to ‘draw this line’, due to buyers who have attempted to back out of their purchase commitment, by interposing the ‘opinion’ of a non-substantiated third party. This despite the fact that the object was accurately represented and well photographed. PLEASE NOTE: Items paid for by PalPal will be shipped within 3 business days of payment (if possible).I do not pack until an item is sold and cannot always run immediately to the Post Office to ship. I appreciate your patience. ATTENTION DOMESTIC BUYERS: Ebay now requires that sellers provide shipping costs to buyers. As these charges can vary substantially depending on destination, I have chosen the option of providing dimensions and weight so that ebay can adjust these amounts regionally (shipping by USPS Parcel Post). As I do not pack items until they are sold (so that I can provide extra pictures, answer condition questions, and not have to un-box if the item doesn‘t sell) the shipping statistics I have provided ebay with are estimates. Furthermore, the resulting ebay estimates do not always include insurance or tracking (both required). After the auction, once the item is packed, at the buyer’s request, I will gladly re-calculate the shipping costs, including insurance and tracking by USPS Parcel Post and email the adjusted total to the buyer. My scale is not calibrated to the Post Office scale, and the difference of an ounce can alter the cost of shipping by several dollars or more, up or down (the price changes at the first ounce over the even pound weight). I do my best to be as accurate as possible when calculating shipping, but cannot be responsible for any discrepancy between my scale and that of the Post Office. I do not charge extra for packing materials or handling. If you have any questions please contact me before paying by PayPal. |
