The device is workable for both direct hot shoe photography (when switches to Normal mode) and remote flash photography (when switches to Slave on mode). The device features 4 slave modes that allow it to work with cameras that fire their built-in flash instantaneously or that have single or multiple flash red-eye reduction system.

Please check your camera’s owners manual to determine which flash system your camera has.

You may also wish to use the Digital Slave Flash as an additional light from a different direction than your camera. Place your Digital Slave Flash where you want a second light illuminating the subject and follow the instructions as above. This will allow you to get shaded areas lighted from different angles or as a fill flash when shooting into dark areas.
