UP FOR SALE IS A COLLECTION OF ANTIQUE BETAL NUT CUTTERS THAT WE BROUGHT BACK FROM PAKISTAN IN THE MID 1990'S.  THESE ARE AUTHENTIC AND ARE MADE OUT OF BRASS/IRON COMBINATION.  THE BETAL NUT IS A POPULAR TOBACCO PRODUCT USED EXTENSIVELY IN THE MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES FOR MEDICINAL PURPOSES.  ALMOST EVERY HOUSE HOLD HAS AT LEAST ONE OF THESE BETAL NUT CUTTERS.  MOST ARE MADE OF HEAVY BRASS WITH IRON BLADES AND ARE EXTREMELY OLD, SOME DATING BACK TO THE 1850'S AND OLDER.  FOR SIZE REFERENCE, PHOTO NO 7 IS ABOUT 9" LONG AND 5" FROM BOTTOM TO TOP.  THESE MAKE AN INTERESTING DISPLAY AND CONVERSATION PIECE .
