Twin Falls was added between Boise and Salt Lake City, receiving mail service through the Gooding Airport southward on April 27, 1947 and northbound on April 28, 1947.

A large unofficial cachet was provided by United Air Lines.

The Gooding Municipal Airport was dedicated on April 27, 1947 (Airport Dedication).

This cover was carried on the inaugural Air Mail Route 1 flight from Twin Falls, Idaho to Boise, Idaho (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Contract Air Mail (CAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as 5N14.
