PAIR ( 2 ) AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATES

TRENTHAM PATTERN

Edge and Malkin Potteries

Staffordshire England ~ c. 1884

These Victorian aesthetic plates are transfer printed in dark rich brown. 8 1/2" & 7 3/4 " in diameter.

Named after Trentham Gardens in England, the jewel in the crown of the Trentham Estate, the historic Italian Gardens are one of the most impressive, significant and important garden projects in Europe.

The pattern features wildflower and rose stems mixed with berries surrounding the great plate. A Japanesque rolled scrolled panel has a small punt or boat upon a serene lake.

Condition is EXCELLENT on both plates, NEVER USED, clean bright and shiny. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. We currently have thousands of pieces of 19th century ceramics in stock, if you have a special request we can list it for you.
