Up for bids is this beautiful old salt cellar made in a most unusual fashion. It appears to be two identical square salt cellars laid one atop the other, with the top one turned at a different angle, then the two are intermeshed to form a single unit. It reminds you of a star pattern with a total of eight points jutting out. It has a grid pattern and a gorgeous starburst in the center and at each corner, and the starbursts appear to have a 3 D effect, they are simply gorgeous. The starbursts are then seperated by a square which is made of four smaller squares, and these are seperated yet again by a cross which forms four more even tinier squares. It stands approx. 1/2 inch tall with a diameter of approx. 2 1/2 inches not counting the points & approx. 3 1/2 from point to point. Please look at the pictures, I am sure they can give you a much better description than I can. This is much prettier than pictures can tell and will most certainly make an excellent conversation piece as well as being a unique addition to any collection. If you like salt cellars that are a bit different from the ordinary as well as being beautiful, then this one just might be for you. It is in excellent condition, nothing at all wrong that I can find. I do not know the maker or exact age of this beautiful salt cellar. If you have any questions, please ask me.
