Caterpillar Club Pin / Tie Clip / Money Clip

SquareTrade © AP6.0I am offering a Caterpillar Club Pin, that is currently a Caterpillar Club Mystery. I run the website www.caterpillarclub.com and have researched this pin. The Caterpillar Club gives pins to people who had to save their lives bailing out of disabled aircraft with the use of a parachute. Two of the major contributors of the club were the Irvin and Switlik parachute companies. The are still active and the pin is from neither club. I've also contacted a museum that has items from the Pioneer Parachute Company and it does not appear to be from them either. Here is some info about the pin: It measures 2 1/8 inches long.It is 3/8 inches wide.On the back is marked,"10K"and a hallmark. The top appears to be made of Onyx and has a silver Caterpillar Club pin on it with the works Caterpillar Club on it. The tie bar / money clip 10k gold, which a friend estimates has about $200.00 of gold in it. I have been looking at hallmarks and think that one can match up the hallmark with the year of manufacture, In any case it's a very interesting piece of Aviation History, and would make a great addition to any collection.
