There are three clips on the lens to hold the various "Gels" to create the mood on the set by changing the color of the lighting.

Unit has a Carling Hartford Conn Eletric Snap Switch with a 1927 Patent Number date.

Measures approx. 9" by 7" on swivel base.

This is from the estate of:

George A. Rutter (18 August 1916 – 4 November 2007; age 91) was the script supervisor on Star Trek: The Original Series.

Hailing from Glendale, California, Rutter served in the US Air Force during World War II, as a member of the 376th Heavy Bombardment Group. He began working as a script supervisor in the 1950s, working on such television series as Annie Oakley, Fury, and Lassie. He also worked on a number of western films during the 50s, including Last of the Pony Riders, Gun Duel in Durango, and Fort Bowie.

In addition, Rutter supervised the scripts for the 1958 science fiction B-movies It! The Terror from Beyond Space and Curse of the Faceless Man, both written by Jerome Bixby. Another 1958 science fiction film Rutter worked on was The Flame Barrier, starring Robert Brown.

Besides Star Trek, Rutter carried scripts for such classic 1960s series as The Outer Limits and The FBI. His films credits during the 60s included the westerns Battle at Bloody Beach (featuring Barry Atwater) and Ride Beyond Vengeance (featuring Bill Catching, Paul Fix, Frank Gorshin, and Kathryn Hays).

In the 1970s, he supervised the scripts for the 1972 film The Gatling Gun (starring Barbara Luna) and the 1977 TV movie The Hostage Heart (starring Sharon Acker). After working on the 1980s series Remington Steele and Lou Grant, Rutter retired from show business.
