Antique Surveying Transit, made in Tokyo, Japan by the Sokkisha Company.

Sokkisha is known for very high quality, precision made instruments.

This Surveyors Transit has the number "10092" located on the base.

Compass and Levels are in working condition. The Transit is in good condition as well.

In the box is a brass plate imprinted with "stadia hairs; ratio 1:100; Constant 036 feet".

The dovetail wooden case shows some wear, but is the ORIGINAL Sokkisha case and is still a very sturdy box.  No problem carrying the transit in the box.

Sokkisha Transit intruments are hard to find on Ebay and this one is at a great starting bid price.
