Regimental Pipe, Man, Dog, Rifle, Possibily 170 yrs old

First let me start out by saying that I know absolutly nothing about these pipes and I will try and describe this as best as I can.

This pipe has a wooden stem, tapered to fit in a ceramic holder to also hold the pipe. the other end of the stem has plastic or some substance on it. It also has a plastic (?) mouth piece. The one ceramic piece is white and the stem and pipe itself fit in it.

The bowl. The bowl is ceramic with a scene of a man lying on his back with a rifle next to him and a dog that seems to be howling. Maybe the man is dead ? I took pictures so you can see better than I can describe it. The cap of the bowl is made from some kind of metal, perhaps thin steel as a magnet does stick to it. It is a little rusted ( I do not clean up items as some people like them as found ). From what I have been told it is very old. There is a piece of paper stuck on this pipe that someone wrote on, it says " Pipe from China, from Willie Dunnen, about 170 years old. I have left this paper on it for the winning bidder. The pipe has been used, there is still some tobacco residue inside of it. The pipe is not together, it will be shipped in pieces.

Payment

Due to Ebay's new policies PayPal is the only method of payment that I can accept. Also, please do not pay for your item until you have received an invoice from me. Sometimes shipping is less than the Ebay Shipping Calculator shows. The Shipping Calculator is a guesstimate to appease Ebay's new rules. I will figure out shipping both ways, USPS and UPS and ship the cheapest unless you have a preference. Due to the rising costs of shipping I will also offer you the option of Parcel Post. Please keep in mind that shipments this way take longer to get to you than by other means. Insurance cost will be added to the final shipping costs. I am informing you of this because of Ebay's new practice of not having the insurance options in the auction. You will be charged exact shipping and insurance plus a $1.00 handling fee as stated below.

International/Worldwide Bidders

International/Worldwide bidders MUST contact me prior to bidding for shipping rates, which will be by USPS Priority Mail International. Import duties, taxes and charges are NOT included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyers responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be PRIOR to bidding/buying. I will not mark merchandise values below what the item has sold for, nor will I mark an item as a " gift ", US and International government regulations prohibit such actions.

Shipping

Buyer is to pay actual shipping and insurance charges( insurance will be added to the final shipping cost). Shipping will be by USPS Priority Mail (insurance additional and required), or UPS Ground (insurance included up to $100.00), depending on the size and weight of the package. There will also be a one dollar,($1.00), handling charge added to the final cost of this item. I will NOT change this for any reason, this is to ensure that you get your item safely and quickly. If more than one item is won from me in auctions within 5 days, I will combine shipping for you, just let me know if you are going to be bidding on more than one item. Also, please keep in mind when filling out the Ebay ratings for shipping that the sellers do not have any control over the Post Office and UPS on shipping charges. As I charge you exact shipping as stated above.

Communication

I also like to communicate by email outside of Ebay, as I believe this makes the auction more personal. So please read all emails I may send to you outside of Ebay as there may be important information in them relating to your item and shipping. Also, I do not leave feedback until I have either received feedback from you or an email telling me you have received your item. This way I know you have received it safely and everything is all right with it.

Insurance

I attempt to package all items very carefully, but there is always the possibility of damage in shipping. I recommend that insurance be paid for. In the event of damage in shipping and you, the buyer, has refused to purchase insurance, then the responsibility for any possible damage rests with you, the buyer, and not with me, the seller.
