Compared to the binoculars of the MT Series (MTR and MTRC), the extra feature of the 7x50 FMTR are the flat field optics: by adding a field flattening lens to the eyepiece design, the sharpness on the edges of the image is increased to the maximum. The ultimate test for the resolution on the edges of a binocular is to look at the stars at night.Another advantage of the flat field optics is the very big eyepieces with 23mm eye relief which make viewing very comfortable. The FMTR is very much recommended for people who wear glasses while viewing, but also normal sighted people will appreciate the greater viewing comfort. Both optically and mechanically, the FMTR is an outstanding binocular. The brightness of the image is so stunning, that when used at night, the image of the FMTR is better than that of most night vision monoculars.
