Report itemFor auction is an exceptionally nice condition M8 scabbard for the M3 trench knife or very early M4 bayonets. This scabbard would be correct for the later M3s beginning with the blade marked but not dated, and the guard marked. It is possible that some M4 bayonets were also issued with this scabbard although the M8A1 was introduced at about the time the change was made from the M3 to the M4. It is properly marked B.M.Co (Beckwith Manufacturing Company) with the B 1/3 N mark under the throat plate. The hanger is the darker OG color but with the lighter OD color thread indicating probable manufacture during the changeover. The overall condition is about as good as I have seen, very difficult to upgrade. It has the elkhide tie down leg strap, in the same excellent condition as the rest of the scabbard. If you have a really nice M3 knife, this scabbard would be perfect to display with it.
