 The vinyl on this record is excellent - graded Near Mint. The cover is also excellent with good construction, corners, edges and gloss.  This looks and feels like a new album.

1984 (written as MCMLXXXIV on the front cover) is the sixth album by American hard rock band Van Halen. One of the band's more popular albums (in terms of both record sales and chart performance), 1984 is the final album featuring singer David Lee Roth before he left the band in the spring of the following year.

1984 peaked at #2 on the Billboard Magazine album charts (#1 at the time was Thriller, which featured an Eddie Van Halen guitar solo on "Beat It," which Roth had criticized) and contained future hits "Jump", "Panama", "I'll Wait", and "Hot for Teacher". "Jump" reached #1 on the magazine's singles chart. 1984 is the second of two Van Halen albums to have sold 10 million copies in the United States.

"Jump" was one of the most successful songs of 1984 and was on the 10 most played songs on the radio that year. As a single, it sold over three million copies alone, making it one of the most popular rock songs of that decade. "Panama" was the third single from the album and reached number 13 on the singles chart in June. The keyboard-driven "I'll Wait" was another single, reaching number 13 on the singles chart in March 1984. "Hot for Teacher", a humorous song about a grade-school crush, was also a hit, reaching #56 on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as spawning a popular MTV video starring pre-teen lookalikes of the band members. It's also featured in the video game Guitar Hero: World Tour.

VVG    Record itself looks new, may only have been played few time, if at all.  May have very superficial imperfections, not affecting the playing or sound of the record.

VG++ -  The album may show some slight signs of wear, light scuffs, very light scratches, that do not affect listening experience. 

VG+   The album will show some slight signs of wear, light scuffs, very light scratches, that may affect the listening experience, especially at low volume times.  There will be no skips. 

VG    Will have obvious signs of wear, lack of original gloss.  Light scratches that may be audible.  Does not skip on my system.

Good - Will probably have scratches or defects that are audible.  Records may be warped.  There could be skipping and /or loud pops. 

All attempts will be made to list other imperfections of the cover such as liquid damage, split seams, tears. missing pieces or other damage in the description.

All 12” vinyl records will ship media mail.  At buyers request most (but not all) single 12” records can ship 1st class mail at no additional charge.  1st class mail may allow the record to arrive a day or two faster especially on the West Coast.  1st class shipping must weigh less then 14oz so what is forfeited is extra packing protection, so I can‘t be responsible for broken records (which seldom happens, but can).  Again, all will ship media mail unless requested by the buyer.
