BACON BLUE RIBBON BANJO: Gibson strings, Vega tailpiece

This little banjo is a unique piece of handworked craftsmanship. It was built by Bacon before Day was involved in the business. I believe this was built by William Lang.

This banjo has a new 11 inch head, and plays very well.

The neck is fabricated of holly wood with an ebony backstrap, and ebony striping. It features a fully carved heel, with an elegant abalone pearl inlay on the heel cap. The back of the peghead also has a beautiful mother of pearl inlay. The tuners have mother of pearl tuning knobs on gold plated tuners.

The stob has a black and white striped design of holly wood and ebony. It has "The Bacon Orchestra" stamped on one face, and the letters and serial numbers "A.1. 6776" on the inside face.

The pot is capped in the black and white striped motif of ebony and holly woods. It has the shoe brackets bolted into place. It has a 3 Ply tension band, and nice flat hooks. The bridge is an original Bacon bridge.

The fingerboard is solid ebony with beautiful elegant mother of pearl inlay at every marker. The frets are in nice condition. The fingerboard binding is all intact.

The original finish shows very little wear. No breaks and no repairs. Overall this banjo is a fantastic addition to anyone's collection.

This banjo comes with an old hardshell case in good condition.
