Stunningly etched terracotta clay decorative small plate with weave.

Borders are decorated with an exquisite and intricate rattan grass weave which is NOT glued but "sewn"through the clay.

Each plate is hand thrown and then etched.

Measures 6.5 inches in total diameter.

I worked for may years with artisans on the island of Lombok (near Bali). This pottery is their typical signature pottery. The black ,random pigmentation is achieved by the introduction of ground tamarind seed to the clay before it goes to the kiln. This ensures that no two pieces can be identical but rather that each is unique.

I am now liquidating my entire inventory and collections at VERY low prices!

Beautiful to hang on the wall or display on shelves or tables.
