In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a creature that had the head of a bull and the body of a man. Since this creature was so ferocious, it was held at the center of the Labyrinth, which was an elaborate maze-like construction. The Minotaur was eventually slain by Theseus. Minotaur is the Greek word for "bull of Minos."
