Film 1. "A Visit To Santa"   COLOR   Runtime 11:54

Santa Claus rides in a parade and walks kids through a relentless department-store Christmas display. Filmed in Pittsburgh.

Sure to become a cult classic, A Visit To Santa is the most disturbing children's film I've ever seen!

A Visit To Santa is indeed a strange and sinister film, and the nonexistent budget is least of its problems. Santa looks like a grubby, alcoholic derelict plucked from a five-and-dime store Christmas display. The narrator sounds like Mister Rogers - if Mister Rogers had been a suicidal depressive pining for the happy childhood he never had.

The set is an unbelievably tacky 1950's ranch. The soundtrack of ineptly improvised organ music played on a cheap and terrible sounding organ.
The best parts of the movie are the insertions of Christmas parade stock footage and the toy store scenes, which feature some evil looking dolls.

All criticisms aside, This film deserves a five-star rating for its sheer mind-blowing creepiness and sinister tone. I can't see any child wanting to visit Santa after watching this film. In fact, it would probably inspire kids to run away from Santa, screaming in terror.

 Film 2. "Munchers: A Fable"   COLOR    Runtime 9:44

Proto-claymation goes awry with talking teeth and a demonic tooth decay character. A food group hoe-down highlights the importance of good nutrition to help maintain healthy teeth.

This film was produced by dentists to promote a balanced diet, however the fact that it hasn't (at least to my knowledge) been parodied leads me to believe that it wasn't shown to very many people. This film has it all: a two faced villain (quite literally) a moral lesson and lots of songs. Actually the more appropriate word for the songs here would be "ditties" sure they do sing some of what could be considered songs in the first half, but in the second half it turns into this wierd "tell 'em and sing it back" mentality. One of the best parts is all the food groups dancing together it's just so quirky. A must see!

 Film 3. "The Relaxed Wife"   COLOR    Runtime 13:27

Remarkable, surreal industrial film promoting "Atarax," a tranquilizer, and asserting how "ataraxic medicines" can help us all to achieve the relaxed state we long for.

Funny how it is sponsored by Pfizer, nowadays huckster of antidepressants directly to the public on TV ("You know when you're not feeling like yourself... can't even sleep."), which was illegal at the time of this film. Instead, it is "A Public Service Presentation," so TV stations could air this and not only be running what amounts to a commercial for Pfizer, but earning credit to their (then FCC mandated) public service fulfillment!

Intended to be comic, tense husband can't relax and get to sleep. With his wife's help, he tries the self-help books, but when he's almost relaxed and asleep... wife wakes him! So he tries physical relaxation techniques, and while he does this, and it seems to work, we get the the explanation of why we needs drugs! An absolute winner that combines big business marketing hubris with camp.

Film 4.  "Safety: Harm Hides at Home"   COLOR   Runtime 16:05

Okay, let me see if I get the premise: The Chipmunks in a spaceship give powers to keep children safe to a woman whose costume consists of a plastic garbage can lid, a suit from the Village People wardrobe collection, sunglasses, a scarf, and an adult toy? To quote Joel from MST3K, Oscar Wilde only wished he were this gay. I'm waiting for Guardiana to team up with Mr. B Natural. This one's pure cheese, and I like cheese! I'd give it three thumbs up if I had a third thumb.

Film 5. "Safety: In Danger Out of Doors"  COLOR   Runtime 14:45

After spending more than 1/4 of the movie rehashing of who Guardiana is, (and it's a good rehash!) we find out how she is saving little kids this time.. outdoors! She luckily saves some kids from drowning, some kid from falling off a rock cliff and some kid getting plowed over by a car. Of course, again Guardiana is super camp, and amazes us all in the cheapness of it.
