Chinese Framed Embroidery Needle Art

This piece came from the estate of a very well traveled 90 year old woman. I am not sure how old it is but it is for sure vintage, if not antique. The frame itself is painted white with a pink interior border; somewhat shabby chic in design. The man is wearing a red and pink kimono with a lantern in his hand. He appears to be walking, possibly with a pipe in the other hand. He has a very white face and is wearing a pointy black and grey hat on his head. 

I do have a matching picture with an woman in traditional dress. They both have metal wires for hanging on the wall, with the backing secured by four small nails. This one measures 5.5" x 4.5" on the outside. The frame on the picture has broken on the left hand corner so it will need a small repair. There is also a small little chip on the paint of the frame at the top.
