If a watch is described as working, it means that the watch winds, all hands appear to move correctly, and it ticked consistently for at least 15 minutes while I monitored it. Due to the high volume of watches I sell, I cannot check for time-keeping consistency. Also, sizes stated for watches are as accurate as I can get. I use a combination of methods to check the size of a watch. Waltham and Elgin watch movements sizes are verified against a well known database. Other watch movement brands are measured with a caliper and a size chart. While I try to be as accurate as possible when measuring a watch, some watches are difficult and maybe be off a size.
