A full issue of Le Miroir des Sports, dated July 29 1925, featuring the Grand Prix driving champion Robert Benoist. as well as other great sports articles.

Benoist, the son of Henry de Rothschild's Gamekeeper, was a ace pilot, champion Racecar driver and World War II french resistence Hero. After flying and instructing fellow pilots in and after World War I, he started driving race cars, he was drafted to drive for Delage in 1924 and won the French Grand Prix the following year! He is shown here in his Delage, finishing the race.
He went on to win the 1927 French, Spanish, Italian and British Grand Prix for Delage, after Delage he raced with Alfa Romeo before a more than ten year stint for Bugatti,. With the German invasion he joined the french resistance, survivng and escaping capture only to return to France to organize and sabotage on behalf of the French people. He was captured and executed in June and executed September 11 1944 at Buchenwald concentration camp.
